AT A GLANCE
The ARCAD product suites are built around a single central repository, or application knowledge base, that resides on the IBM i. ARCAD-Open Repository presents an overall view of your entire application and its inter-dependencies, regardless of technology used (IBM i, Windows, UNIX, Linux).
THE CORE OF THE ARCAD SUITES
ARCAD-Open Repository analyzes your libraries and uses your source code to develop a database that contains all the inter-relationships between components (programs, files, etc.), fields (databases, work fields), and lines of source code.
All of the ARCAD product suites rely on the Open Repository:
- To manage the topology of software components (source, object positions),
- To perform impact analyses, using cross-references,
- To automate recompilation of dependent components (files/programs, COPY clauses /programs, ILE programs),
- To automatically check the integrity of modifications, and
- As a knowledge base for all ARCAD modules and functions, including workflow management and reporting.
Our cross-reference system is second to none. It shows you all components associated with an application, whether they are native IBM i or reside on some other platform, and it takes you down to the field and code line level. Since ARCAD-Open Repository analyzes and manages all inter-component relationships, it can show you every program a field is used in, and what lines of code manipulate that field. This level of analysis applies to both externally developed and in-house developed software.
In addition, the Open Repository core is equipped with a process and list manager that allows you to structure the ARCAD modules and build highly customized solutions in just days. As a result, ARCAD is flexible enough to configure over any environment, and any technology, and can deploy to any platform
